Chef Jacoby Ponder CC CPC


After serving ten years in the U.S. Navy as a Personal and Private Chef, Chef Jacoby Ponder established FireSyde Chef & Co in 2010, and he continued on to his latest culinary venture called “Norfolk Kitchen Lab” which is a Personal and Private Chef culinary hub which provides quality personal and private chef services up in Hampton Roads and the greater Delaware, Virginia and Maryland region. He has received his extensive culinary arts and business management degrees at The Culinary Arts Institute of Virginia and ECPI University – graduating with both an Associates (Culinary Science) and Bachelors (Business Management). He holds both CC and CPC Certifications in the Culinary Field. With almost twenty years of experience in culinary arts, hospitality and business management, Ponder has acquired culinary skills to work in upscale environments. Chef Ponder provides fivestar meals for Admirals, foreign dignitaries, senior government executives, Hollywood stars and celebrities alike. He has prepared dishes for names such as President George H. W. Bush, Bruce Willis, Vivica A. Fox, as well as reality television personalities from the hit show “House wives of Atlanta”, Actors Bill Bellamy, Rodney Perry and many more! Chef Ponder is truly a Chef to the STARS! In 2012 Chef Ponder was a finalist on the Food Network hit show “Chopped”, where he placed as runner-up in the grueling Military Salute episode. In 2014 Chef Ponder took it back to Food Network with his second and victorious win on the hit show “Cutthroat Kitchen”. Chef Ponder is most passionate about teaching while he cooks and uses his platform to educate others about the health benefits and the harms of some foods. A teacher at heart, Chef Ponder looks for ways to develop others, share his experiences and bridge gaps in nutritional understanding.
